With the cockpit design settled during our work with The Line, we knew we wanted to get a version of it into the game - having a 3D cockpit you could be immersed in rather than simple 2D menus was a goal since pretty early on in the project.
We had worked hard to get the Cinematic design looking like something you could actually use to control your army, and the main challenge in this concept was to design something that a 3D menu camera could move cleanly around without getting frustrating or disorienting for the player.
While we had many versions of this in the game at one point or another unfortunately none of them were every polished to a state to make it into any of our Beta testing.
